TR-Electronic: Encoders for measurement and control technology - since 1983

We design and manufacture measurement and control systems for automation technology

When industrial processes run smoothly and reliably, chances are it's partly down to TR-Electronic's measurement and control solutions. For example, when a theater curtain rises, TR systems monitor complex stage technology. People and machines work together safely, and viewers enjoy the perfect production. Wind power plants generate energy with maximum efficiency thanks to optimally positioned rotor blades - controlled by TR solutions. In press lines for the automotive industry, TR sensors guarantee safe forming of car body parts. In logistics, TR measuring systems enable smooth transport of goods, e.g. in transport systems and high racks. TR control and measurement modules control and monitor drinking water supply pumps,

For all these and other applications, TR-Electronic supplies the right rotary encoders, linear encoders and drives – as high-quality standard products or as customized solutions.

Our goal is your success!

TR-Electronic develops, manufactures and sells sensors and actuators for industrial applications in automation technology. To better integrate individual competencies and make them more transparent for our clients, we have divided the company into business units:

Products in the optical or magnetic scanning rotary encoders business unit are required to sense the angular motion of a rotating shaft. Magnetostrictive linear encoders measure the position of a linear movement, for example in a hydraulic cylinder, without contact. Intelligent compact drives from Motion Business Unit are used as actuators or in the high-end version as process drives. Individual testing and measuring modules combined with special know-how in stamping and punching processes complete the extensive product portfolio. The product range is completed by automation components from the Components business unit. Development services provided by the Automation Business Unit bring press lines to a new level of efficiency, provide smart metering solutions for efficient energy use and fair billing,

Based in Trossingen, present worldwide

With a typical Swabian love of hard work, TR-Electronic has strong regional roots while being active worldwide. Its most important customer is the machine and plant construction industry, which has a strong tradition in Germany. In addition to our main location in Trossingen, our subsidiaries and technical sales partners in Europe, USA, Canada, Brazil and Asia offer professional consulting and project planning and provide worldwide access to the TR product range. Established in 2010, the Beijing-based sales subsidiary TR is now the direct contact for manufacturing locations in Asia for many European companies and supports ambitious industrial projects in the Far East.

The basis of our innovative products and growing global success are experts, their ideas and development experience in Trossingen. The optimal combination of many years of experience and fresh inspiration provided by qualified new employees provides a competitive advantage in terms of functionality, quality and cost-effectiveness of our range, both today and in the future.

This is what we stand for. We work for that. And that's what we want to be measured by!

2019
TR creates additional development opportunities at the Trossingen campus. The building "Im Sandbruch 1" receives a modern multifunctional extension. The assembly area of me-tec GmbH (a subsidiary of TR) will find new premises on the ground floor, while the upper floor will be temporarily used by the development department BU 02 (linear encoder) as offices to make room for the renovation work required at Eglishalde 6. Innovative functional building showcases contemporary architecture and offers state-of-the-art equipment for the flexible design of workplaces, whether office or manufacturing.

2018
The success story of encoders with functional safety enters the next round: SIL / PL certified encoders are now also available in the compact size of 58 mm. As a result, safe encoders fit wherever standard industrial encoders can be installed. Functional safety is no longer a matter of installation space

.

2017
TR-Electronic is developing a new generation of its compact absolute encoders. This ensures a future-proof and powerful encoder system with all Industry 4.0 interfaces for a standard 58 mm installation space. The measuring systems are manufactured according to lean manufacturing principles with variable lot sizes. This enables highly customized products with customer-specific benefits.

2016
The German "TÜV" accredits the TR environmental laboratory for vibration, shock, electromagnetism, climate and water immersion testing. Our own tests for the certification of components and devices are accepted by external certification authorities. Another proof of the high value of own know-how for rapid development with high quality requirements.

2015
TR-Electronic streamlines sales and support activities in Benelux with new branch in Geffen, The Netherlands. The local presence in the European neighborhood facilitates access to quite different markets in Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg. Own subsidiary is another consistent step integrating European sales activities into a common TR-Electronic strategy.

2014
TR supports a standardized data structure for VDMA approved devices (VDM 66413 standard). Safety function planners can easily find the safety components best suited to their application in this database. By integrating openSAFETY via Powerlink into the SIL3 series of encoders, TR is taking another big step towards seamless safety integration.

2013
In 2013, TR-Electronic will present innovative solutions and series: CEV58M - a new generation of compact rotary encoders with direct connection to Industrial Ethernet;

To meet future challenges and meet growing demand, production and development capacity will be expanded by another 3,000 m2 and 30 additional jobs.

2012
The introduction of SIL3/PLe certified absolute rotary encoders with PROFIBUS safety via PROFIBUS marks the entry into integrated safety solutions.
